The ECB has added Revolut to the list of banks subject to monitoring.
Let us remind you that Revolut is a Fintech with Russian roots, founded in 2015. In October 2023, the bank had more than 35 million customers in 37 countries. Of course, such growth could not fail to attract the attention of regulators.
Thus, in December 2023, the European Central Bank decided to add Revolut to its supervisory list (https://www.bankingsupervision.europa.eu/ecb/pub/pdf/ssm.listofsupervisedentities202312.ga.pdf?965c9c7794b0377e34a0eda8cd088dbd).
Now two Lithuanian companies are subject to monitoring: Revolut Holdings Europe UAB and Revolut Bank UAB. The reason is the results of the annual assessment of the importance of the bank by the ECB.
The introduction of monitoring means that more and more transactions will come to the attention of supervisors and the period for making payments will increase.
In light of these changes, it is important to carefully consider your financial transactions and possible alternatives. Stay up to date with the latest news and analysis of the impact of these developments on the financial sector with Ariela Consulting.
